As a Shadow Brexit Minister, I’ll be on the front bench for a statement from the Prime Minister on last week’s EU Council meeting; it was supposed to be the point at which the exit deal was broadly agreed, but the continuing chaos in the Government meant it was kicked down the road again. I’ve other Brexit meetings this week as the Cabinet prepare for their ‘peace summit’ to see if they can finally reach agreement on their negotiating aims.

Later today I’ll be welcoming students from Birkdale School to Parliament today, and answering their questions about my work as a MP, before joining an event organised by the Federation of Small Businesses, which I work with in Sheffield.

Tomorrow morning the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on International Students, which I co-chair with Lord Karan Bilimoria, is launching its new inquiry on a sustainable future for international students in the UK with a roundtable with experts and stakeholders. Also tomorrow, I’ll be raising concerns over Sheffield school funding, meeting with the Wellcome Trust, discussing issues facing refugees with parliamentary colleagues, and talking to students at an event organised by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (UK Branch), the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK, and the Council for Education in the Commonwealth.

On Wednesday I’ll be welcoming constituents to Prime Minister’s Questions, attending the AGM of the APPG on Motor Neuron Disease, of which I’m currently Vice-Chair, and joining an event organised by the Electoral Reform Society in my role as Chair of the Labour Campaign for Electoral Reform.

I’ll be heading back to Sheffield on Thursday where I’ll be catching up with my constituency staff, speaking a workshop organised by Sheffield Climate Alliance at Birkdale School, and meeting Sheffield Young Carers to follow up on our recent meeting with the Prime Minister.
