Parliament has the November mini-recess this week, linked to school half-terms, so the House will only be sitting for two days. I’ll be joining a debate on transport in the north, at which I plan to raise the Government’s broken pledge on electrification of the Midland Mainline between London and Sheffield. I will also be in the Chamber as a Shadow Brexit Minister for a debate on the European Economic Area and also hope to press issues raised with me by local school students at Education Questions.

The House rises for recess on Tuesday and I will be spending the rest of the week on an international visit, but will be back in time to join the annual Service of Remembrance in Barker’s Pool on Sunday. I’ll also be spending time this week preparing for the next stage of the EU (Withdrawal) Bill, which is finally returning to the Commons next week after several delays by the Government.
