START THE WEEK: Olympics, Headway Sheffield and Martin Jenkinson's photos - all part of my week
With Parliament in recess, it's another week to catch up with work in Sheffield - and to watch each evening's highlights from the Olympics. We finished our monthly Constituency Labour Party meeting last Friday in time to get home to watch the opening ceremony - a great event marred only by the insulting comments of Tory MP Aidan Burley, for which he deserves sacking from their Party. I'm watching every night's Olympics round-up and trying to catch Sheffield competitors live.
I was pleased to see that the Harland Cafe is mounting an exhibition of the work of the great Sheffield photographer Martin Jenkinson who died recently. I've known Martin for years and was at many of the events he chronicled. The exhibition is on throughout August. I'll be seeing it at 6pm on Tuesday 31 July, when I'm at the cafe to raise funds for Headway Sheffield. Why not join me, see Martin's work and support a great local charity?
On Wednesday I'll be walking the first part of the Pennine Way to raise funds for funds Headway Sheffield - all sponsorship welcome through my Just Giving page.
