Parliament is back today after the Easter recess, but I won’t be there for the first couple of days. Yesterday morning I flew to Rome, and tomorrow I’m in Milan, with colleagues on the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee as part of our inquiry into improving UK exports. We’ll be looking at what we can learn from the Italian Government’s successful initiatives on the issue, meeting with our export agency UKTI and talking to UK businesses.

I’m back in Parliament on Wednesday, where I’ve my regular Shadow Foreign and Commonwealth Office team meeting in the morning, as part of my role as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Shadow Foreign Secretary Hilary Benn. I’ll then be in the chamber for the first PMQs after Easter when Jeremy Corbyn is likely to pile pressure on the Prime Minister on the Panama Papers which lots of constituents have written to me about.

This week I’ve a meeting of the APPG on Students, of which I’m Chair, about stopping sexual harassment on and off campus. Shockingly, research has shown that 1 in 7 women have experienced a serious physical or sexual assault during their time as a student and 68% have been the victim of one or more kinds of sexual harassment on campus. This roundtable discussion between MPs, students’ union representatives and universities will explore what can be done -; and is being done -; to tackle harassment.

I’ll also be going to a meeting of the Labour Campaign for Electoral Reform, of which I’m Vice-Chair, where we’ll be talking about building the case for a fairer voting system. I’m heading back to Sheffield on Thursday to catch up on casework and have meetings. I’ll be speaking to staff from the Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre, as well as attending the Somali Community and Cultural School in Broomhall. And then at the weekend I’ll be out knocking on doors and speaking to residents about their views on the EU referendum and much else besides.
