Paul Blomfield presents £2500 to The Children’s Hospital Charity

Paul Blomfield MP has presented a cheque for £2500 to The Children’s Hospital Charity. Paul has been fundraising throughout the year for The Children’s Hospital Charity which was his chosen charity for 2013.

Paul presented the cheque for £2500 to David Vernon-Edwards, Director of the Children’s Hospital Charity. He also was given a tour of the Children’s Hospital, which is in Sheffield Central constituency, and received an update on the progress of The Children’s Hospital Charity’s Make It Better appeal.

Paul Blomfield MP said:

“The Children’s Hospital Charity does a fantastic job in raising huge sums of money to improve care for the young patients at our Children’s Hospital and their Make It Better appeal will enable the hospital’s facilities to match their exceptional service. Their fundraising also helps staff to provide the world class surgical and medical care through purchasing new state of the art equipment, and making the hospital a friendly and welcoming place.

“Every time I’ve visited the Children’s Hospital, as a parent or as the local MP, I’m bowled over by the incredible care and support that staff give to the young patients. It’s been a pleasure to have helped their work.”

Notes for Editors

1.The money was raised throughout 2013 in a number of different ways. These included donations, holding a fundraising stall at a community festival and from the fundraising Europe Day Dinner which was held when a delegation of civic leaders from Bochum, Sheffield’s twin city in Germany, visited Sheffield in May.
