Today starts with Education Questions and I’ll be in the Chamber seeking to ask Ministers about mental health provision in schools. Later today I’ll be at a Britain-Palestine All Party Group meeting with the General Union of Palestinian Students, to hear from young Palestinian people about their experiences, and tomorrow I’ll be attending a briefing from Oxfam about the situation in Gaza.

Tomorrow I’m chairing an All Party Parliamentary Group on Students meeting about the mental health issues facing students in further and higher education – with mental health services, for young people in particular, a big concern in my Big Conversation.

Later tomorrow, I’ll be in the Commons for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Questions, to ask about the potential effect of the liquidation of Carillion on workers’ pensions. I’ve already spoken to the Minister responsible for Carillion and will continue to raise the issue with the Government (read my comment about the collapse of Carillion here).

On Wednesday morning I’m joining former Universities Minister David Willetts, the CEO of HEFCE, some Vice-Chancellors and others from the sector at a Guardian roundtable discussion about the challenges facing universities. I’ll be back in the Commons for PMQs and then I’m meeting with GlaxoSmithKline to discuss the impact of Brexit on the pharmaceutical sector.

On Thursday I’ll be in the Commons for Brexit Questions, challenging Ministers on their chaotic approach to negotiations with the EU, and later I’ll be meeting with Shadow Brexit team colleagues, and attending an event about World Cancer Day 2018, before heading back to Sheffield.

On Friday I’ll be presenting a cheque for the £3000 I raised in my Christmas Appeal for homeless charities Cathedral Archer Project and Roundabout (thanks to everyone who donated!), and visiting a Salvation Army Lifehouse which provides homeless accommodation for men and women, as well as catching up with my Sheffield team on casework.
