My office has been closed since the start of the pandemic, to comply with public health advice, but I’ve working between Westminster and my home in Sheffield. All my staff team are working remotely too; together we’ve been providing all the support and advice that is normally available to constituents – and we can be contacted by phone and email as usual.

During the crisis, I’ve met regularly online with the City Council Leadership, the Director of Public Health, the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust, Voluntary Action Sheffield, South Yorkshire Police and other agencies – to help ensure that, as a city, we can support people through this difficult time.

Lots more people have been getting in touch with me than usual and, with my team, I’m responding as quickly as possible – and pressing other issues raised by constituents (see here). There’s lots of useful help available from other sources too:

· Medical advice – If you’re worried about Covid-19 and need advice, you can find it from the NHS here.

· Covid rules and restrictions – There’s been lots of confusion caused by mixed messages from the Government, but you can find the latest local position here.

· Individuals needing help – If you’re self-isolating and need help, or know others who do, information is available from the City Council here or Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS) here.

· Business support – A range of grants, loans and other measures have been put in place to support businesses and keep people in employment. See more here.

· Volunteering – It’s been great to see so many people responding to the crisis by volunteering to help others and these efforts are being well-supported by VAS. You can volunteer through VAS here.

· Offers of help from businesses – Lots of businesses have been in touch to offer help too and the Council are co-ordinating these offers.
