Today starts with meetings on the Immigration Bill and the Labour In for Britain campaign, following which I’ll be in the Commons Chamber for Education Questions. After that I’m meeting with a University of Sheffield researcher, who’s exhibiting his work at the SET for Britain event to highlight cutting edge scientific research. Then I’m heading off to Kingsway College, where the Committee on Education, Skills and the Economy, of which I’m a member, is taking evidence as part of our inquiry on careers advice, information and guidance.

Our Business Innovation and Skills Select Committee inquiry on the digital economy continues on Tuesday. I’ve also meetings on the formation of a new All-Party Parliamentary Group on International Students and on apprenticeships, and I’ll also be in the Commons Chamber for the debate to mark International Women’s Day. On Wednesday, I’ve a meeting of the Shadow Foreign Office team, I’m welcoming constituents on a visit to Westminster and then I’ll be meeting Immigration Minister James Brokenshire to discuss the Shaw Report on welfare of people detained under the immigration system -; an issue on which I’ve been active in Parliament.

Unusually, I’m heading back to Sheffield on Wednesday afternoon for the International Women’s Day event that I’ve organised with the support of Unite the Union and the University of Sheffield Students’ Union Women’s Committee, at which we’re raising funds for three women’s charities -; Ashiana, Sheffield Rape Crisis and Women for Refugee Women.

On Thursday and Friday, I’ve meetings with constituents and I’ll be visiting Grace Owen Nursery in its new site at Park Hill and joining a cookery club at Hunters Bar Infants School organised with the Children’s Food Trust, a national charity on a mission to get every child eating well: at home, in childcare, at school and beyond. Together with other MPs I’ve also a meeting with members of the City Council Cabinet. On Saturday, I’ve one of my regular advice surgeries and I’ll be knocking on doors meeting constituents, before heading down to Bramall Lane to see if United’s faltering season can improve.
