Our Shadow Brexit team will be continuing to press the Government to come clean on their plans this week. On Wednesday we’ve secured a House of Commons debate in which we’ll once again challenge the Government to come forward with some actual proposals. Outside the Chamber I’ll also have a series of meetings on Brexit including discussions with the TUC, Migration Observatory and Which?

I’ll also be attending an All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Universities event about the impact of social media on mental health, I’ll be meeting a constituent at an event on human rights in Bangladesh, I’ll be meeting with the Student Union Officers at the University of Sheffield and I hope to be contributing to a Westminster Hall debate on a new report into post-study work schemes for international students – an issue that the APPG on Migration, which I chaired until recently, produced its own report on in 2015. I’ve also meetings on the Higher Education Bill -which I’ve been challenging over past months with Birkbeck College and then the Higher Education Academy.

On Friday I’ll be back in Sheffield where I’ll be meeting with the Headteacher of King Edward VII School, doing an interview with Sheffield University’s student TV station Forge, and talking to Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group about some of the funding challenges facing local health services. Then on Saturday I will be holding one of my regular advice surgeries before heading to Bramall Lane in the afternoon for the match against Swindon.
