This week is a bit different, as I’m in Brussels for a series of meetings in my role as a Shadow Brexit Minister. I’ll be talking with European Commission officials, members of the UK Representation to the EU, and MEPs from many parties and countries -; following on from Jeremy Corbyn’s major speech on Labour policy and the Prime Minister’s own speech on her negotiating approach (on which you can see my comments here).

I’ll be heading straight back to Sheffield on Wednesday for my annual International Women’s Day film screening in the evening, where we’ll be raising money for the Together Women Project (TWP) and Women in Construction and Technology (WiCAT). On Thursday, I’ll be speaking at a ‘teach-out’ organised by the University and College Union to talk about Brexit and universities – an event organised as part of activities during their industrial action to defend their pensions, which I’m backing. Then, in the evening, I’ll be at a fundraising event for Museums Sheffield.

On Friday morning I’ll be heading to Sheffield Hallam University for the launch of the State of Sheffield report which provides an overview of the city, how things are changing, and the challenges we face. In the afternoon I’ll be catching up with my team in Sheffield and meeting with Sheffield Climate Alliance.

On Saturday I’ll be talking about Brexit at the Labour Party’s Regional Conference in Saltaire and then on Sunday I’ll be out in Carterknowle, knocking on doors to hear local people’s views.
