Paul Blomfield A strong voice for Sheffield Central
In March I brought 14 headteachers from Sheffield to meet the Schools Minister. They made a powerful case on the crisis they’re facing, after nine years of cuts have reduced their budgets by 8% in real terms. It’s meant fewer teachers, specialist assistants and support staff. It’s narrowed subject choice and limited the support to those students who need it most. Their visit was a cry for help for Sheffield schools.
I challenged the Prime Minister on this today, but she ignored it. Our children only get one chance at education and we can’t let them down. I will continue making the case for a fair funding settlement.
