In a debate on unsustainable packaging yesterday, I celebrated University of Sheffield Students’ Union’s Zero Waste Shop and highlighted the important work of the University’s Grantham Institute on Sustainable Futures in developing new approaches to eliminate plastic waste.

It’s important that we work to minimise single-use plastics, but this isn’t always straightforward and we must make sure we also get it right.
