Today at PMQs I challenged the Prime Minister on supporting onshore wind.
We need action now if promises on carbon emissions in 30 years are to have any meaning, and onshore wind farms have a vital role to play, both in responding to the climate emergency and as a cheaper form of energy.
The Prime Minister’s refusal to take this straightforward and publicly popular step brings into question her commitment to the net-zero target for carbon emissions. It is all well and good putting a target into law for thirty years from now, but it will not be met without clearly defined milestones achieved with positive policy action.
