Over the last nine years I have organised film screenings to celebrate International Women’s Day and raise funds for women’s charities. This year we’re supporting the Snowdrop Project.

The Snowdrop Project is a great Sheffield charity, supporting survivors of human trafficking with a range of services which include counselling, employment support, housing renovations, and educational workshops. They are in the process of fundraising for a new central base for their work.

In partnership with Sheffield Hallam University Students Union and Unite the Union, we’re screening “On the Basis of Sex”, on Thursday 5^th March 2020. It’s a powerful film about Ruth Bader Ginsberg who is only the second woman confirmed as a US Supreme Court justice.

The film follows her early career as an advocate for the advancement of gender equality and women’s rights, facing several testing cases throughout the 1960s and 1970s.
