After last week’s focus on universities, I’ll be in touch with school headteachers in my constituency this week to get their views on Friday’s announcement by the Education Secretary on the September return for all pupils – as I’m concerned that schools get the support they need, and proper resources are made available to help pupils who’ve fallen behind with their learning.

Labour has tabled a Parliamentary debate on the NHS on Wednesday, and I’ll be seeking to speak on concerns raised by constituents, and on Tuesday I’m meeting local members of Medact to discuss health inequalities exposed by Covid-19. Also this week, I’ve meetings with Sheffield NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, the Director of Public Health and Council Officers.

As Shadow Minister for Brexit and EU Negotiations, I’ll be participating in an event organised by the Fabian Society with Labour’s sister parties and I’ve meetings of the Shadow Cabinet Office and Shadow International Trade teams. On Thursday evening I’ll be catching up with local Labour members in one of our, now online, monthly meetings.
