Boris Johnson’s new lockdown measures will dominate Parliamentary business this week; I support the measures but regret that the Government didn’t act when their scientific advisers and Labour called for a ‘circuit breaker’. Early action would have saved lives, lasted for a shorter time and caused less damage to jobs. Lots of constituents contacted me over the weekend on different aspects of the issues raised by the lockdown and I expect more in the days ahead – do get in touch if I can help.

As Shadow Minister for Brexit and EU Negotiations I’ll be following the talks on our future relationship with the EU which must be concluded within days, having passed the latest deadline, and I’ve meetings with Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney UK, representatives of the UK Overseas Territories, Tech UK, the Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants and others.
