While everyone else is talking about Joe Biden’s welcome victory, Brexit is central to my week again. After so many missed deadlines the government needs to have agreed its ‘oven-ready’ deal with the EU within days, and I’ve lots of meetings on the impact on sectors from transport to Scottish whisky. I’ll also be talking to Sheffield for Europe members and speaking at a webinar organised by the Irish think tank TASC.

On Tuesday and Wednesday I will be speaking for Labour at Delegated Legislative Committees on two of the many Statutory Instruments Parliament has to consider in preparation for our departure from the EU transition period and on Thursday I’ll be tackling Michael Gove on the current state of negotiations at Cabinet Office Questions.

Away from Brexit, I’m dealing with lots of enquiries on Covid-19 and lockdown measures (do get in touch if I can help) and will be meeting with the Sheffield NHS Clinical Commissioning Group. I’ll be attending an event on the human rights abuses against the Uyghur people in China and meeting Ministers to talk about funding to support leisure facilities in Sheffield.
