I’ve co-ordinated a call from Sheffield’s Labour MPs for Government support for two key developments for Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. 

The Emergency Department is seeing double the number of patients to the number anticipated when it was rebuilt and it needs to be expanded to enable the Trust can continue meeting the 4-hour waiting time target. 

We’re also backing the Trust in seeking a grant for a National Centre for Child Health Technology (CCHT). This investment would create a world leading research facility in the north of England and would be located alongside Sheffield’s Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre.  

We need investment in the NHS as well as increased revenue funding for better pay, training and support for those working across our health and care system.
