After schools returned last week and we look to the next steps in easing lockdown, I’ve several meetings on Covid-19 including with the Local Medical Committee and Primary Care Sheffield, representing local GPs, as well as the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, the Director of Public Health and Council leaders. Do get in touch if there is anything you would like me to raise.

As Patron of Sheffield Young Carers, I’ll be supporting Young Carers Action Day tomorrow and promoting the launch of a petition calling for greater support for young carers in schools which you can sign here. If you are or know of any young carers, ask them to share their stories with the Sheffield Young Carers campaign here.

Later in the week I’ve a meeting on the risks of post-Brexit labour market abuse with Focus on Labour Exploitation, and I’ll be attending a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Universities on the role of universities in pandemic recovery, and meeting with the WPBSA to discuss arrangements for a ‘Covid-secure’ World Snooker Championship at the Crucible in April/May.

I’ll also be joining ‘Driving out Antisemitism’ training with other Labour MPs, as part of our response to the shocking Equality and Human Rights Commission Report on antisemitism in the Labour Party.
