As part of this year’s Carers Week I hosted an event in Parliament in my capacity as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers, providing MPs and Peers with the opportunity to meet young carers and sign a pledge to be advocates for them. 

I also chaired the launch of an APPG inquiry focussing on the impact caring has on the life opportunities for young carers and aiming to set out recommendations about what the Government and other partners should do to help the life chances of young carers and young adult carers.  

The Inquiry will be supported by a group of youth advisors, and co-ordinated by the Carers Trust which provides the secretariat to the APPG. You can read more about it here.
