I’m heading down to Westminster this morning concerned about developments in both Ukraine and Gaza. This afternoon I’ll be speaking in a Westminster Hall Debate relating to an e-petition on a visa scheme for Palestinians and meeting with the Union of Jewish Students to discuss antisemitism. After that I’ll be joining a Labour Students event on the student housing crisis.

Tomorrow I’ll be joining the AGM for the APPG on Choice at the End of Life, of which I’m a Vice-Chair, before attending a Parliamentary event with the APPG for Children. Later that afternoon I’ll be attending Homes for the North’s Parliamentary Reception where we’ll be hearing about the Plan for More and Better Homes which aims to tackle the housing crisis.

I’ll also be looking out for the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) report on the graduate visa route, which is due to be published tomorrow, following threats to the route raised by the Home Secretary.  I successfully campaigned for the route as part of the International Education Strategy and will be meeting the Chair of the MAC at a meeting called by the All-Party Parliamentary University Group

As part of events marking Dementia Action Week, I’ll be joining two Parliamentary receptions on Wednesday, hosted by Dementia Support and Alzheimer’s Society. I’ll also be attending the Trussell Trust and the APPG on Ending the Need for Food Banks Parliamentary drop-in on the level of need seen at food banks in the last twelve months.

Back in Sheffield at the end of the week I’ll be meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of University of Sheffield, and catching up with casework, as well as going to Bramall Lane on Sunday for the last game of a miserable season.
