This privacy notice outlines the way that my office complies with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) in sending a regular newsletter to constituents who have requested it about my work as the MP for Sheffield Central.

In relation to the newsletter, our legal basis for processing your personal data (email address and first name) is based on your consent.
Consent
By consenting to receive my newsletter you are giving us permission to process your personal data specifically for the purpose of sending you a newsletter. We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary.
You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking unsubscribe on a newsletter email or by emailing me on paul.blomfield.mp@parliament.uk asking to be removed.
Disclosure
For those who have consented to receive my monthly newsletter we will transfer your email address and name to an email distribution platform only for the purposes of sending you the newsletter. This platform is currently managed by the Labour Party. We will always ensure that any provider we use fully complies with data protection requirements. Your data will at all times be held on secure servers and we will not share your data with any other organisation.
This may involve the transfer of your data outside of the EU, but there are safeguards in place to protect your personal data, because any company that we use will be subject to the US Privacy Shield scheme. Email me to find out more information.
Retention period
We will process personal data for the purposes of sending the newsletter for the length of time required to send you a newsletter and store the personal data for as long as my office continues to send it out.
Your rights as a data subject
You have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of the information that we hold about you. You also have the right to restrict the processing of your data, to object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. The law gives you rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling, but I will not use your data for this purpose.

Complaints
In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by my office or how your complaint has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the supervisory authority (the Information Commissioner’s Office) and with me.
