After the Supreme Court judged the last prorogation of parliament unlawful, it looks as if we are going to be prorogued again on Tuesday, until the Queen’s Speech which is expected next Monday.

I will be in London for as long as Parliament is sitting. Business is always a bit uncertain, but much more so now. I’m anticipating Urgent Questions and Government Statements on both days, but today starts with a meeting of Labour’s Shadow Brexit team. I’m planning to be in the Commons Chamber for Work and Pensions Questions to raise points from the Big Conversation.

This evening I’ll be speaking at an event organised by Rupa Huq MP on Labour’s Brexit policy. Tomorrow I’ve a meeting with a private rented housing provider to discuss developments in the sector and their preparations for Brexit. Whatever happens in Parliament, I will be back in Sheffield by Thursday evening when I’m speaking at a ‘Sheffield for Europe’ fundraiser.

It’s a full constituency day on Friday, with a final Big Conversation event with students at King Edward’s School, which I rearranged after Parliament unexpectedly resuming after the Supreme Court judgement a couple of weeks ago. I’ve also a meeting on inequality in Sheffield and a joint meeting with other local MPs and the Council on special educational needs provision in the city.

I’ll also be catching up with my team, as we follow up on the Big Conversation, with events for this year almost finished. We’ve had some great discussions, and you can still have your say in my survey; it only takes a couple of minutes to complete and is an essential part of the Big Conversation. This week I will start preparing our report on the issues that were raised in almost 40 events over the last three weeks.

At the weekend I have one of my regular advice surgeries on Saturday morning, and then I’m heading over to the marginal constituency of North East Derbyshire where I’ll be campaigning with Labour’s candidate Chris Peace. Then I’ll be back in Sheffield to join Church Action on Poverty after their annual pilgrimage.
