Monday 4th January 2016 – Parliament’s back tomorrow and today I’m catching up with my Sheffield team – and the correspondence that’s come in over the Christmas break. I’ll also be working on my new website, which I’m launching next week to improve communications with constituents.

Tomorrow I’m back in Westminster, where I’ve been drawn for Health Questions and have lots to choose from among the issues raised with me by constituents. On Wednesday, I’ve a meeting of the Shadow Foreign Office team, of which I’m a member as PPS to Hilary Benn, and a meeting of the Business Innovation and Skills Committee where we’ll be discussing the reports of inquiries on Productivity and Assessing Quality in Higher Education.

I’m back in Sheffield on Thursday and Friday, where I’m visiting the Broomhall Homework Club with the University of Sheffield’s Vice-Chancellor and have meetings with the new Chief Executive at Sheffield Churches Council for Community Carea group of local midwives campaigning for a birth centre for Sheffield, the Centre Manager of Together Women Project, volunteers from PACT who are fundraising for a new cancer treatment centre as part of the development of the Children’s Hospital, and I’m catching up with local police on anti-social behaviour in the Abbeydale Road area -; as well seeing a number of constituents.

On Saturday, I’ve one of my regular advice surgeries for constituents, before heading over to Old Trafford to watch the Blades launch another cup run! Then on Sunday I’ll be at the Madina Mosque on Wolseley Road for the Milad Un Nabi celebrations.
