Parliament is back today after the conference recess, during which I’ve held 40 community events seeking constituents views. This week I’ll start to pull together all the comments from the hundreds of people who joined in the Big Conversation. I’ll also be preparing for the EU Withdrawal Bill on which I’ll be leading as part of Labour’s Shadow Brexit team, when it goes into committee stage next Tuesday. This afternoon I’ll be in the Commons Chamber for Theresa May’s report on Brexit, in which she’s apparently trying to turn the attention away from the chaos in her Government, which is paralysing the negotiations, by blaming the EU.

Transport was an issue raised by lots of people in the Big Conversation and, on Tuesday, I’ll be meeting with Northern Rail about their modernisation plans. I’ll also be speaking at the British Academy as part of the University Alliance’s International Day, in my role as Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on International Students. On Wednesday, I’ve meetings on immigration detention, the Women Against State Pension Inequality campaign, and catching up with colleagues at the monthly meeting of Sheffield MPs.

On Thursday, I’ll be in the debate on Brexit and Data Protection before heading back to Sheffield where, on Friday, I’ll be seeing the Chief Planning Officer of Sheffield City Council, visiting the Sheffield Inclusion Centre, and meeting the Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust, to talk about the re-organisation of local mental health services. On Saturday I’ll be speaking at a rally organised by Sheffield Friends of the Earth against fracking and for renewable energy, before heading to Bramall Lane to see United take on fellow Championship high flyers Ipswich Town.

Events for this year’s Big Conversation may have finished, but there’s still time to fill in my survey to let me know what you think my priorities should be in Parliament.
