Yesterday I spoke about the environment and Brexit at Sheffield University at a great event organised by the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures. I’m concerned that environmental protection will be a casualty of a Tory Brexit -; and climate change has fallen off the Government’s agenda, although it’s one of the most pressing issues we face.

I was pleased to work with Ed Miliband to secure Government agreement to make the zero carbon emissions target, agreed at the Paris climate talks, legally binding in the UK. That was an important victory. Locally I’m a member of Sheffield Renewables and have worked with Sheffield Climate Alliance.

We need urgent action to prevent catastrophic climate change. If you re-elect me on 8 June, I’ll keep pressing for environmental protection and action on climate change. #reelectPaul
