This is a big week for Brexit, with the EU Council meeting on Thursday and Friday, but I’m not expecting it to dominate Westminster. However I’ll still have my weekly meeting of our Shadow Brexit team, a series of meetings about future trade arrangements and I’ll be talking with leaders of the Core Cities following their recent visit to Brussels.

Also this week I’ll be joining a Trustees meeting of Focus on Labour Exploitation (FLEX), the charity that I helped set up; talking to students from Hallam University and Sheffield University who are visiting Parliament; and going to an event of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Motor Neurone Disease, of which I’m a Vice-Chair, on access to Personal Independence Payments.

I’ll be heading back to Sheffield on Thursday where I’ll be meeting the Sheffield Aspergers Parent Action Group and then going to the monthly meeting of Sheffield Central Labour Party where we’ll be welcoming Diana Johnson MP to lead a discussion on women in the month we mark International Women’s Day.

On Friday I’ll be meeting with the Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, visiting Shoreham Street GP Surgery, meeting with representatives of Muslim Engagement and Development to discuss a recent hate campaign targeting members of the local community, catching up with the Chief Executive of Healthwatch Sheffield on deaf patients access to health services, and holding one of my regular advice surgeries.

On Saturday I’m speaking at a meeting in Derby, making the case for proportional representation, as Chair of the Labour Campaign for Electoral Reform and then on Sunday I’ll be knocking on doors and meeting constituents.
