Paul Blomfield Former MP for Sheffield Central
In November I visited the Palestinian village of Khan al-Ahmar in the occupied West Bank. I was inspired by the Bedouin community who live there and who have built a school for their children, despite all the restrictions imposed on them by Israel. Today Israeli bulldozers moved in to destroy the school and the homes that surround it, to make way for illegal settlements and to further undermine the viability of a Palestinian state.
In Parliament, I challenged the Government to back up their words with action to press the Israeli Government to stop illegal demolitions.
