I joined doctors from the Hallamshire Hospital to raise awareness of pulmonary hypertension at a special event in Westminster on Monday.
Pulmonary hypertension is a cardiovascular condition that affects around 7000 people in the UK. It causes high blood pressure in the blood vessels connecting the heart and lungs (the pulmonary arteries). I am supporting their calls for Government action to reduce the time taken to diagnose the condition; to improve the health, well-being and quality of life of patients with PH and their families; to insure equity of access to evidence-based treatments for all and to reduce the financial hardship incurred by those living with PH.
You can find out more on the Pulmonary Hypertension Association’s website.
