A new report (pages 57-92) by the Sheffield City Region organisation estimates that a ‘no deal’ Brexit would result in the loss of 5000 jobs in Sheffield by the end of this year and that the Sheffield region’s economy would be 11% smaller by 2030.
‘No deal’ would be the most disastrous outcome of all; that’s why Parliament has voted against crashing out without a deal three times. Labour has been clear that any Brexit deal must protect jobs and our economy and that we support a confirmatory public vote between a credible deal and remaining in the EU.
