As a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Environment I co-signed a letter to the new Prime Minister Liz Truss – calling for a recommitment to net zero targets by 2050, expanding renewables, a proper home insulation programme to cut energy waste, and her participation in the upcoming United Nations COP15 on Biodiversity. You can read the letter here.

After a summer in which extreme weather events, from the UK to Pakistan, have underlined the urgency of climate action I’m concerned that the new Prime Minister is moving the country’s climate policy in the wrong direction and will continue to press for strong and urgent action.
