In the first official meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Young Carers, which I’ve set up with the Carers’ Trust, I was delighted to facilitate a conversation between young carers and Children’s Commissioner Dame Rachel De Souza.  

It was great to listen to young carers and be reminded of the amazing work they do, which is too often overlooked and unsupported. We were joined by MPs and Peers from across the political spectrum for a discussion in which Dame Rachel reinforced her commitment to provide the support young carers need, and I am looking forward to following up on many of the plans we discussed.
