With nurses and ambulance staff taking further industrial action this week, and the crisis in the NHS deepening, I pressed Ministers today why the Government won’t meet with unions to negotiate a settlement to the pay dispute – as employers, unions and the public want.
Consecutive Tory Governments have run down NHS funding and now they say they can’t pay staff what they deserve. It is time they took responsibility, stopped destroying morale, and negotiate a fair deal for NHS workers.
