I challenged gambling industry leaders on the impact of addictive products at a meeting of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, which I was invited to attend as a representative of the Health and Social Care Select Committee.

The Committee’s inquiry follows the publication of the White Paper on Gambling Reform which has introduced a range of measures to tackle gambling harm, on which I spoke in Parliament. My concern at today’s hearing was the industry’s failure to recognise the harm caused by products the design of which encourages addiction.
