After yesterday’s announcement by the Home Secretary in response to last week’s net migration figures, I challenged the Health Secretary about the impact on the care workforce. I’m deeply concerned that, to appease the right of their party, the government are introducing rules on the dependants of care workers that will hit recruitment and reduce care provision for the vulnerable who desperately need it.
