Paul Blomfield Former MP for Sheffield Central
Today I visited Lena Mussa and Sahar Awadallah at their peace camp outside Sheffield Town Hall. When we met this afternoon, we had a long discussion on the appalling situation in Gaza, the impact of escalating tensions across the region, and the need for stronger action by the UK.
We also discussed the situation in the West Bank, which I’m concerned should not be overlooked as I’m conscious of the rise in settler attacks on Palestinians since 7th October – following a year in which 189 Palestinians, and 25 Israelis, had been killed according to the UN – and on which I’ve written to the Home Secretary.
