Later I’ll be in the Chamber to vote against the  Offshore Petroleum Licensing Bill on which I’ve written to Ministers with other MPs and Peers from the Climate APPG expressing my opposition.

Tomorrow the Health and Social Care Select Committee meets again for our second evidence session as part of the inquiry on men’s health. I’ll then be participating in a debate on school attendance, highlighting the issues facing young carers. I’ll also be serving on a Delegated Legislation Committee on the draft Sentencing Act 2020 (Amendment of Schedule 21) Regulations 2023. Then in the evening I’ll be joining the Music Venue Trust’s parliamentary reception launching their 2023 Annual Report.

On Wednesday, I’ll be visiting a hospice in South London as part of the Health and Social Care Select Committee’s looking at palliative care services in relation to our inquiry on assisted dying/assisted suicide. In the afternoon I’ve a meeting with Alison Johns, the CEO of Advance HE, followed by an All-Party Parliamentary Group for Universities roundtable with vice-chancellors – both discussing current and future issues facing higher education..

I’m back in Sheffield on Thursday where I’ve got an early start joining an event hosted by the Sheffield Property Association promoting private sector investment in Sheffield’s cultural sector. I’ll then be visiting students at Learn for Life in Sharrow before meeting with BiteBack, a youth activist movement challenging the food system. On Friday I’m meeting with the NHS Integrated Care Board and with the Children’s Hospital, before holding an advice surgery at ISRAAC.

At the weekend I’ll be out knocking on doors and meeting constituents and joining the Sheffield Jewish Congregation at Kingfield Synagogue in Nether Edge for their annual Hospital Sunday Service, raising funds for the Children’s Hospital.
