As soon as Parliament sits this afternoon I’ll be questioning the Education Secretary on the operation of the Turing Scheme for studying abroad. After that, the Health and Social Care Committee is meeting for our sixth evidence session as part of the inquiry on future cancer.

Tomorrow I’ll be joining Universities UK for a discussion on the financial sustainability of the higher education sector. I’ll then be in the Commons Chamber where my question on Gaza has been selected for the Minister of State in Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

Later that afternoon I’ll be meeting with Nuffield Council on Bioethics to discuss their project which explores people’s views on assisted dying and catching up with South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard before hosting the launch of the National Union of Students manifesto for the coming general election.

On Wednesday I’ll be serving on a Delegated Legislation Committee on The draft Combined Authorities (Mayoral Elections) Order 2017 (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and The draft Combined Authorities (Mayors) Filling of Vacancies Order 2017 (Amendment) Regulations 2024. After that I’ll be meeting the Association of Dental Groups on the dental workforce crisis, joining a Trussell Trust event on building a future without food banks, then meeting Pancreatic Cancer UK and World Cancer Day at their parliamentary drop-ins.

Later that day I’ll be meeting with Friends of the Earth then catching up with the Carers’ Trust to talk about the work of the Young Carers’ APPG ,which I chair and for which they provide the secretariat.

Back in Sheffield at the end of the week I’ll be at meetings with the Council leadership and student officers at the University of Sheffield. I’ll also be visiting Metro Bank and meeting constituents on issues raised with me. At the weekend I’ll be out knocking on doors and in my regular place at Bramall Lane.
