My week starts in the Commons Chamber where this afternoon I’ll be speaking in the debate on last week’s Budget announcements – making the case for public services. I’ll be taking time out of the debate, which runs until late tonight, to join a reception hosted by Dignity in Dying following the Health and Social Care Select Committee’s report of the Inquiry into Assisted Dying.

On Tuesday my question on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has been selected for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Questions, as the appalling situation there gets worse by the day. I’ll then be hosting Bite Back for a Parliamentary reception marking five years of young people campaigning for a healthier and fairer food system. After that I’m hosting a drop-in event with The Brain Tumour Charity as part of Brain Tumour Awareness Month.

Later in the afternoon, as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers, I’ll be speaking on a webinar to launch the Young Carers Covenant which coincides with Young Carers Action Day on Wednesday, where I’ll be hosting a drop-in event for MPs to meet young carers and sign up to the covenant.

Also on Wednesday I’ll be joining Yachad at their briefing with leading experts on Israel-Palestine then speaking in a Westminster Hall Debate on gambling advertising in sport. Later that day I’m chairing the APPG for Students AGM and tertiary education roundtable before hosting an All-Party Parliamentary University Group event to discuss the UK’s current research and development landscape.

Back in Sheffield on Thursday and Friday I’ll be meeting with the City Council leadership and the Vice Chancellor of University of Sheffield. I’ll also be doing a Q&A with students organised by the Politics Society at the University of Sheffield. On Saturday I’ll be out knocking on doors and meeting constituents in Nether Edge and Sharrow.
