Today is Young Carers’ Action Day and, as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers, I hosted a drop-in for MPs and Peers to meet young carers and sign up to the Young Carers Covenant – which is a UK-wide commitment prepared by young carers for ten key outcomes that they believe are key to improving their lives. 

I helped to launch the covenant at a webinar yesterday, which was led by young carers, and I was pleased that lots of MPs and Peers backed it today – including the Minister and Shadow Care Ministers. Any organisation or individual in a position to take action to help achieve these outcomes is urged to sign up to the Covenant.
