I’ve been drawn for a question to the Work and Pensions Secretary this afternoon, and I’ll be pressing her on the impact of changes to eligibility for Free School Meals, which Labour has opposed, and which will affect 7,000 Sheffield children.

As a Shadow Brexit Minister, I’ll be staying in the Commons for a statement from the Prime Minister about last week’s EU Council meeting (see part of my interview on Sky TV here) and in the evening I’ll be at the Irish Embassy for a speech by Shadow Brexit Secretary Keir Starmer. Tomorrow I’ll be meeting with Labour peers to discuss the EU Withdrawal Bill and on Wednesday I’ll be taking part in a panel event on Brexit.

Also this week, I’ll be taking part in a roundtable about student mental health in my role as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Students, going to an event promoting the Migration Museum, which tells the story of the history of migration to and from our shores, joining a meeting on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Human Rights Group and the Britain-Palestine All-Party Parliamentary Group, and welcoming constituents down for PMQs.

On Thursday I’ll be back in Sheffield and meeting with Manor Training and Resource Centre (MATREC), which helps re-engage adults furthest away from the job market, to discuss some of their funding challenges (sign their petition here!) and catching up with the Chief Executive of Sheffield Healthwatch.

The House of Commons breaks for a two-week Easter Recess on Thursday, during which I’ll be working in the constituency and taking a few days break. ‘My week ahead’ will return on Monday 16^th April.
